Each of us is adjusting to an unprecedented situation, the likes of which we have never seen before and hopefully never again do. In these trying times, we all need to focus on our families, friends and culture for strength.
As you are aware, we can’t get together for the live Gudi Padwa function but would still like to celebrate with each one of you. To do this in the safest way possible, this year’s celebration will be held virtually, via electronic devices and we invite each one of you to participate.
To that end, we invite you to submit an electronic file with the following guidelines:
- A 3-5 minute (maximum length) clip created by you
- Suggestions are: Pictures of Gudi, karaoke song, story or a delicious recipe or equivalent. We encourage you to make it as relevant to the festival and our culture as possible
- Submission deadline is Mar 31 (Sunday)
- Send your file to virtual@mahamandalchicago.org
- Refrain from making jokes about the current situation
- Entries which do not meet the above criteria will be rejected in the community interest
We will select the top clips and upload to Maharashtra Mandal Chicago’s Youtube channel (add link) and opened for viewing on April 11th. We will send further instructions for viewing by April 11th.

सद्य परिस्थितीत सगळे आपापल्या घरी सुखरूप आणि निरोगी आहात ना! तसेच रहा ही सदिच्छा!
आज, जरी आपण नव वर्षाची गुढी उभारायला एकत्र जमू, शकत नसलो तरी हीच वेळ आहे, आपण सर्वांनी एकमेकांना साथ देण्याची, आपल्या कुटुंबासाठी, मित्रमैत्रिणींसाठी, आपल्या समाजासाठी आणि आपल्या संस्कृतीसाठी! आणि म्हणूनच आपलं शिकागो महाराष्ट्र मंडळ, सर्वांसाठी आणत आहे ‘Virtual celebration of गुढीपाडवा’!
तर असा हा गुढीपाडवा आगळा वेगळा साजरा करण्यासाठी तुम्ही सर्वांनी, virtual@mahamandalchicago.org या संकेत स्थळावर तुम्ही गुढीपाडवा साजरा कसा केलात ते फोटो किंवा तुम्ही गायलेले गाणे, एखादी गोष्ट किंवा अगदी special पाककृती मार्च 31 पर्यंत नक्की पाठवा. संकल्पना मात्र ‘2020 चा गुढीपाडवा’ हीच असावी.
आम्ही ते सर्व साहित्य MMC YouTube channel किंवा MMC Website वर प्रसिद्ध करू!
